Itinerary & Costs For VALLEY OF FLOWERS And BADRINATH YATRA

BELOW IS THE ITINERARY AND COST OF THE YATRA HELD IN 2019. THIS IS TO GIVE YOU A BRIEF IDEA OF THE NEXT YATRA- BUT THERE WILL BE CHANGES, WHICH WILL BE UPDATED LATER

 

ITINERARY and COST

DAY 1- 31 AUGUST – Participants join at Haridwar. Overnight stay in Haridwar.

Day 2- 1 SEPTEMBER – Haridwar to AULI/ GOVINDGHAT/PANDUKESHWAR by road.

This drive from Haridwar is via Devprayag, the confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers. After the drive , with views of the Alakanada reach Govindghat /Auli and stay overnight. Relax for the journey next morning.

DAY 3- 2 SEPTEMBER – To GANGHARIA. Upto Pulna by road . From Pulna - Ghangaria by trek/pony or helicopter.(9 kms/ 4-5 hours)

Start the trek at 7 am towards Ghangaria, with splendid  views all along, especially  along River Pushpavati .Lunch on the way. Reach Ghangaria by the evening and relax. One can also visit the nearby waterfall and enjoy the scenic spots. Some rare species of birds can be seen here.

DAY 4 – 3 SEPTEMBER – GANGHARIA to VALLEY of FLOWERS and back. (6-8 kms one way. Duration: 7-8 hrs)

After breakfast ,make an early start in the morning to enter one of the most enchanting places of unpolluted natural beauty. The valley is a treat to the eyes with an impressive array of rare wildflowers like Geranium, Marsh etc. The valley is 10 km long, 2 km wide, and is divided by the Pushpawati stream, into which several tiny streams and waterfalls merge. Lunch can be had on the banks of the Pushpavati. Create memories of a lifetime amidst the tranquility of Nature. Return to Gangharia. N.B -Palanquin/doli available for those who do not wish to walk.

DAY 5- 4 SEPTEMBER – GANGHARIA to HEMKUND SAHIB and back (6 kms one way. Pony and Palanquin/doli available)

After breakfast,leave by 7am and reach Hemkund Sahib, the highest gurudwara in the world. Amidst snow clad mountains and a beautiful lake at an astounding altitude of 13500 ft, this place is serene and spiritual. It is said the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh in a previous life, meditated on the shores this lake Hemkund,surrounded by seven snowcapped mountains. This 6 km trek is quite steep but beautiful  with sights of rare flowers like blue poppies, vajradanti and brahmkamal. N.B - Pony and Palanquin/doli available for those who do not wish to walk.

DAY 6 – 5 SEPTEMBER - GANGHARIA to Pulna trek and then by road to BADRINATH.

Journey to BADRINATH , one of the Chardhams( Four Dhams)and  one of the 108 Divya Desams, is a celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country, situated between the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. Visit temple , where the head priest, or Rawal, is traditionally a Nambudiri Brahmin from Kerala. In the evening visit Mana village,origin of River Saraswathi, Vyas Guha, etc. Overnight in hotel at Badrinath.

DAY 7 -6 SEPTEMBER – Morning darshan at BADRINATH. Drive and visit JOSHIMATH . Proceed to AULI. Over night at AULI.

After morning visit to temple, proceed to Joshimath or  'Jyotirmath', the place of the Jyotirlinga of Shiva. This is one of the 4 mutts that Adi Shankracharya established . Visit mutt, Narsingh Temple, see the Kalpavriksha, which has a circumference of 21.5 m. Considered one of the oldest trees in the country, it is believed that Adi Shankaracharya meditated beneath this tree.

Proceed to the enchanting town of  Auli ,one of the most sought-after ski destinations in the world. Surrounded by dense forests, Auli offers breath-taking views of the mighty Himalayas with Nanda Devi Peak, Mana Peak and Kamet Peak. Stay at a beautiful eco-friendly resort in Auli.

(If time permits take the ropeway between Auli and Joshimath)

DAY 8 – 7 SEPTEMBER- AULI to HARIDWAR/ RISHIKESH

Journey by road to Haridwar. See Ganga Arathi at Har ki paudi in Haridwar. Overnight in Rishikesh.

DAY 9 -8 SEPTEMBER – RISHIKESH

Morning Rafting in the river Ganga. Enjoy the unique beauty of the Ganga, with a special emotion, as you take this exhilarating trip in the waters. See Laxman Jhula, visit ashrams, temples, etc. Overnight in Rishikesh.

DAY-10 – 9 SEPTEMBER – Drop at railway station or Dehradun Airport for your return journey.

COST – Rs 38,500/- per head

Cost includes: Good accommodation on twin sharing basis, all main meals(B,L,D) starting from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 10, transport  and sightseeing.

Cost excludes : Air/Train fare to and from Dehdradun/Haridwar, meals other than those specified, any kind of personal expenses, Tips for the guide and porter etc, Optional tours.
